Hala Dance Company is very proud to present Egyptian master dancers, choreographers & trainers of the Reda Troupe in Cairo, Atef Farag & Magda in a 2-day dance workshop and spectacular show in Redwood City, CA on May 20th & 21st, 2006

Don't miss this golden opportunity to learn from the natives and experience a spectacular Dance Show where Atef and Magda are going to take us on a folk dance tour of Egypt! This is the very first time they will perform together again since their retirement bringing back to us the golden years of Egyptian dance theater and the Reda Troupe!!

In this intensive 2-days seminar, Atef & Magda will teach a wide and rich variety of Egyptian dance styles from various regions of Egypt. They will cover technique and choreographies in the following styles:

  • "Shamedaan" (Candelabra) dance
  • Saidi
  • Nubian
  • Alexandrian (Melaya)
  • Gawazi (baladi)
  • Oriental dance

Their choreographies are very unique, elegant and simple, yet very rich and clever. They both very beautifully blend the Egyptian Folkloric dance traditions with Raqs Sharki (Oriental Dance).

With their extensive experience in teaching, choreographing and producing theatrical dance shows, Atef and Magda's workshops is an excellent opportunity for dancers who wish to improve their performance skills, learn new techniques and increase their knowledge about Egyptian culture and dance. The workshop is open to all levels of dancers who want to learn authentic Egyptian dance.
